What are SI Ratings?
Product ratings and reviews help users make more informed purchasing decisions and improve their hopping experience.
SI Rating provide "at-a-glance" information about how the in-house team in ShoppingIndia has technicallyassessed the products based on certain vital parameters like Brand, Features, Price, Date of aunch, User Reviews, Expert Reviews from Review Sites and Review aggregators for the said product.
User reviews and Expert Reviews are written by Users / Review sites and provide more details about the good and/or bad features of each product.
The algorithm that we use at SI is a proprietary one which has been extensively tested and proven. Also, the SI rating algorithm varies for different sub-categories of products. For instance Electronic gadgets would be favoured when they are light whereas for Home Applicances, their weight does not matter.
The SI Rating is a no. together with a graphic (colour coded horizontal bar) that almost immediately conveys the confidence level that a browser can assume for a product that he is looking to buy. While the number is in the range of 1-100, there is also a tool-tip message when mouse over on the bar occurs that rates the product.
The segmentation of the SI rating together with the associated purchase recommendations can be presented as follows:
